We offer private accommodation in Horská Kvilda (1,070 m above sea level), in the central part of Šumava National Park. Horská Kvilda is a village with a typical scattered layout, and its surroundings are known for their well-preserved nature, including meadows, heathlands, peat bogs, and forests.

Horská Kvilda is a crossroads of marked tourist trails, used in winter as cross-country ski routes and in summer as cycling and hiking trails. These are standard KČT marked trails. Among the most interesting destinations are routes to Kvilda and the springs of the Vltava River, to Bučina and Knížecí Pláně, Zlatá Studna and Churáňov, Filipova Huť and Modrava, Zhůří and Turner’s Chalet, or through the Hamerský stream valley to Antýgl and the Vchynicko-Tetovský navigation canal.

There are also several unmarked trails suitable for local walks (for example to Jezerní slať and the lynx and deer enclosures near Kvilda, to Výhledy, or to Horní Antýgl with an ascent to Antýgl Hill). Šumava attracts more and more cycling enthusiasts. Outside public roads, cycling is only allowed on marked cycling routes.

In summer, cycle buses can also be used to travel one way to more distant areas in the southeast (Horní Vltavice, Boubín Forest), west (Prášily, Železná Ruda), or north (Sušice). Šumava offers ideal conditions for winter cross-country tourism. Ski trails are maintained from December 15 to March 31, depending on snow conditions.

Horská Kvilda and its surroundings are traditionally a destination for cross-country skiing, but they also offer something for those who prefer downhill skiing or snowboarding. The nearest ski area is in Kvilda (4 km), suitable especially for beginners, children, and ski or snowboard lessons. A more advanced ski area is in Churáňov (including a four-seat chairlift), or on the German side of Šumava, with Mitterdorf being the nearest.

For the peace and quiet of your holiday, the cottage is situated in a beautiful location away from the main road, with parking on private property. We provide accommodation in apartments with private facilities and self-catering options; restaurants are within 250 meters (Hospoda U krámu, Hotel Rankl).

The apartments have private bathrooms (toilet, shower), a kitchenette (fridge, electric double hotplate, kettle, and basic kitchen equipment), television, and internet connection. A microwave oven is available in the common room. A baby cot is available for children under 3 years old.

Heating is central, smoking is prohibited throughout the building, no smoking, entry only in indoor shoes. The cottage also includes a common room, storage for bicycles and skis, and outdoor seating with a fire pit for guests.
